Century Real Estate has announced that its projects Century Horizon and Century Downtown (Tower A) have been awarded the LEED V4 Gold leadership pre-certification and LEED V4 Platinum pre-certification respectively. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.
Century Horizon and Century Downtown (Tower A) achieved the LEED pre-certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions in areas including sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
“We have been emphasizing on the use of sustainable methods at each and every stage of our projects to create a healthier home/workspace for individuals and ensure a sustainable lifestyle. The LEED pre-certification is a validation of our efforts to implement initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and power consumption through unique design and technology,” said Pushpak Pusegaonkar, COO, Century Real Estate.
In an effort to move towards creating efficient and greener projects, Century Real Estate has introduced technologies like solar photovoltaic systems that offset a part of the building’s total energy consumption and roof tiles with high solar reflective index to reduce the heat load in buildings.
